5 Years

Happy 5th Anniversary! And what a way to spend it! We spent 4 nights on the pacific ocean and 2 nights in Los Angeles.

The Cruise: We sailed out of Long Beach, CA on Monday night. It was pretty cold and windy when we took off. We headed to dinner where we ate with 2 really fun couples. We made some pretty good friends.

Kinda windy...but so happy to be gone!

Fun little towel animals ...

Peace Out!

Tuesday, we were in Catalina Island, CA. Its a small island with not too much to do. We rented a golf cart to drive around town. We went up a mountain (if you can call it a mountain) and had some great views on the way up. We walked around town and did some tourist shopping and headed back to the boat for some games, entertainment and dinner.

Some really amazing houses were set in the mountain
Wednesday, we were in Ensenada, Mexico. This place was more up Brady's ally. We went into town to so some shopping and walking around. Brady was in heaven haggling with the Spanish folk. We got some killer deals on jewelry and such. Brady even had a conversation with the jewelry guy about the church and invited him to go. He said he would love to check it out. We found an awesome place for lunch and then did some more walking around. Later, we headed back to the boat and got ready for some dinner and more entertainment. Tonight's entertainment was a really funny comedian who made a couple appearances on scrubs and other things. He was hilarious!

I had no idea what they were trying to sell here! Did they really want to sell Horse "stuff"? No, its just cigarettes.

Yummy Lunch

Thursday, we were on the boat all day. We ordered room service for lunch while Brady watched Lord of the Rings. I actually watched some of it while I ate lunch. While we were eating, my cheek started hurting pretty bad when i chewed...I got up to check it out in the mirror, and sure enough, my cheek was SO swollen. There was a huge knot in my jaw muscle that got me pretty worried. We went to the doctor on the boat but he wasn't there. I just went back to the room and took some Ibuprofen and the swelling went down and all was well again. It was just so random and weird! Then dinner and lots more entertainment.

(Definitely NO pictures this day...)

Friday was our anniversary and we were back in LA in the morning. We headed straight to the hotel to drop our bags off and figure out what we were doing. We headed over to Hollywood Blvd. and walked up and down looking at all the starts on the sidewalk. We saw the Kodak Theatre, Chinese Theatre, Wax Museum, Hollywood sign, lots and lots of shops and lots and lots of impersonators. Then we headed back to the hotel for dinner. We ate at PF Chang's and went to see Harry Potter. Definitely, not my first choice, but i told Brady he could pick whatever he wanted. It might be the last time I let him choose. ;o)

This guy looked exactly like Captain Jack Sparrow; it was amazing!

Of course, Brady had to get a picture with Marilyn Monroe

Tin Man maybe??
Saturday, we wanted to see Beverly Hills. We took a drive up that way and we passed the LA temple. We wanted to get out and walk around, but there were a bazillion weddings going on and we didn't want to disrupt any of them. So we continued on...when we got there, every other car was a BMW! I was in car heaven. There were so many amazing looking cars...it was hard to decide if i wanted to look at the stores or the street! We walked down Rodeo Drive hoping to have a star sighting or two. Unfortunately, we didn't see anyone! After a lot of walking, we headed to Santa Monica Beach. This beach had an amusement park on the pier and it was PACKED! The beach was packed with people everywhere. We were able to find a little spot to lay out and take a little nap. It was getting pretty windy and cold, so we packed up and headed back to the hotel. For dinner, we went to In N' Out. It was AMAZING! I hope they start a chain out here.

Brady is going to buy this for me for my 100th birthday...

Sunday, we headed home. LAX is the most confusing airport ever. There were masses of people just waiting, thinking they are in line for something, but they really aren't. haha

It was such an amazing trip. and a BIG HUGE thank you to my parents for watching our SICK girls while we were gone. We dropped Kailyn off already being sick and then Tuesday night, Taylor got sick. They probably drove my parents absolutely nuts. But we are SO thankful that they sacrificed their last week of summer freedom to watch them. THANK YOU!!!

SO fun! We went to Ensenada this January on a cruise. Did you get to see the blow hole, la buffadora? You have to go way out of town to get to it, but it was neat. Our Mexican Cabi ended up having a son at BYU Hawaii, small world. I loved looking at your pictures...next time lets go together! Thank you for your sweet comments! Especially the one where I look great, still in that chubby pregnant stage...yuck! Lol. We'll be back in Oct. Let's play!

What a fun trip! And how random about your jaw!! I'd like to know what the heck that was! If you're still around and driving at 100, you DESERVE that car! Happy Anniversary!

Sounds like a blast! Good job Brady on sharing a spiritual moment while haggeling - I hope you stole it and used it as your own in RS :) Cap'n Jack is much more believable than Marilyn, I've gotta say. And I enjoy the wide variety of pictures of your trip - especialy how Brady is on the LEFT in the last one - CRAAAZY! Haha! Miss you guys, hope the girls are all better now.
