"The Mountain"
What a week! Tuesday was Greg's birthday. I wont say how old he is though..... ;o) For his birthday he wanted to go Paragliding! Paragliding is just a fancy way of saying you jump off a mountain with a parachute on top of you. So Greg, Stacy, Brady, and I all loaded in the car at about 5am to get up to Glenwood Springs by 8am. They got all situated and Brady took the first jump at about 9:30. (we could have left a whole hour later!)
His flight was very smooth and the landing was great. While I was video taping the whole thing, I noticed that Brady was wearing only one shoe when he landed! It turns out, that his tandem buddy had given him a flat tire and Brady's shoe fell off about 30ft down the mountain! Luckily, Greg went down to get it for him. Greg jumped next and his flight and landing went really well. Then finally, my uncle Bob took his jump and all was well with him too.
(Now, I'm not too sure who everyone is in these pictures. Some are Brady and some are Greg) All of this took place within an hour. So we were out of there at 10:30. We headed off to play some putt-putt (Brady beat Greg! That does NOT happen very often in golf) and then to lunch at Chili's and then back to Denver where there was a fabulous BBQ waiting for Greg at my sisters house.

And this is Greg landingIt was a great day for Greg. I was so happy to see Brady get something daring and death-defying out of the way. Now that Brady is back on SAFE ground, nothing bad can happen to him, RIGHT???? not so much.....

Friday night at about 6:30 I get a call from Brady. (I was driving home from Denver and was at I-25 and Longmont exit) to make a VERY long story short, Brady had taken a pretty nasty spill on his bike while he was coming home from work. He was very out of sorts and could not talk to me very clearly. I had arrived to where he crashed a little after 7pm. When I got there, his entire left side of his face was so beat up, his eye was completely swollen shut, dried blood all over his face, his shoulder, legs, and ankle were all scratched up. So he got his bike in the car (he would not leave it at all!) I loaded him in the car and rushed over to the hospital. I had called Ryan to meet us there and take Kailyn back home. After the doctors checked him out, they let some good friends of ours come in and gave Brady a blessing and then they gave him the all clear. They said he had gotten a severe concussion and gave me some instructions for home. Wow! I cannot believe this happened! I'm sure there are lots of details there were left out but you get the basic idea..... Brady is still a little out of it. I would say he is about 75% back to normal judging by his speech and all around looks. (he looked pretty bad) The swelling has gone down A LOT since yesterday and the doctors cleaned all the blood off his face so he looks a lot better now. Brady kept asking me about his sunglasses. He wanted me to go back and find them.... so I went back to "the crash site" and did find the glasses. The left frame was totally bent at the bottom so it went into his eye and the lenses had popped out and sure enough, the left lenses had lots of blood on it. So, I learned a lot about what happened and where he fell and all that good stuff. (I should have been staring in CSI this whole time!)
These pictures were from this evening after all night and all day of icing his poor face. Brady somehow remembered that the new Harry Potter book came out today and told me to go get it. So, now he has something to do while he just lays in bed. Kailyn saw him reading after her nap and went back into her room to get a book and climbed back up on our bed and started reading with Brady.

We are so glad nothing is broken or injured worse. Thank you to everyone who has helped us and all your prayers and thoughts. Brady is going to take a few months to totally recover from this..... at least that's what he said based on his last concussion..... UGH!!!!

Kailyn was right in the middle of saying "HI" to me...
It was such a perfect day, weather wise. There was sunshine with a cool breeze....perfect day to be outside! We are definitely going to do that again.
the Poudre Canyon. We went about 50 miles into the canyon to meet grma and grpa Monday afternoon. We camped at the site "Big South" and it is right by the river. It was so beautiful! When we got there, Grandpa was already fishing and Grandma was doing her needle work, so Brady, Kailyn and I went on a little hike up the river to a beautiful waterfall. Oh wow, was it gorgeous.
Some clouds came rolling in so we decided to set up our tent and get all situated. We had some dinner (taco soup) in their trailer which was sooo nice because there were so many bugs out. We hung out and talked a bit after dinner then put Kailyn down and then......of course Cards! We played a few rounds of oh heck and talked until about 11:30.
The next morning didn't start until 9am! Way to sleep in Kailyn!! We got up and had breakfast outside with the perfect weather and sunshine. Then Brady and I went fly fishing. Grandma and Grandpa watched Kailyn all morning while we fished. THANKS!!!! Brady caught one fish and I caught a stick! woo hoo! After lunch Grandpa, Spencer, Brady and I went for a little hike up the river again. We only went about a 1 1/2 miles up the river, but what a BEAUTIFUL hike.
I wish I could describe it to you, but I wouldn't do it justice. You will just have to go see for yourselves ;o) After the hike, Ryan came up and joined us for dinner. He brought a great chicken dinner for us.
After dinner, Grandma gave Kailyn a little bath in there trailer which Kailyn was so happy for! She got so dirty. Grandpa got the cutest picture of them in the bathroom but I didn't get it on my camera. Maybe they can email me the picture later.... So after a little more fishing and 5 lost flies later, i think it was time for us to head home. On the way home, we listened to the 1812 overture about 5 times. (My favorite song for the 4th) It just wouldn't be the 4th of July without that song.
