Estes Park

We took a drive up to Estes Park on Saturday to see the Elk and changing leaves. However, there were no elk and the leaves are all still green! It was such a disappointment! But it was a beautiful day with lots of sun shine and a crisp mountain breeze. It felt so good to be in the mountains and fresh air. We went with the Parker's and just window shopped and ate at this pretty good Mexican restaurant. The only reason we go there is for their fries. ha ha I know that sounds weird...but this Mexican restaurant and the worlds best fries!! After lunch, tons of people started filling the streets. I guess there was some festival going on. So we just headed home. Maybe next month we can get up there are really see some changing leaves and elk.

A big bounce castle that Kailyn had all to herself

This was the closest we got to fall colors... so sad!

Kailyn loves her little sister

Arizona

This past week, we took a trip down to Arizona to see some family. Brady's mom, grandparents, and great grandma live down there. Great-Grandma has never met Taylor, so we thought this would be a good time. Brady decided to drive the 12 hours down there...I was so scared! I have never been in a car that long...and I was so afraid of how the girls would take it! It turns out that the girls do better on road trips than I do! They slept the entire way. While I could not fall asleep for more than 20 minutes at a time. But once we got there, the ride was so worth it! We had beautiful hot weather the entire week. Brady's mom has an amazing pool in their back yard so we layed by the pool every day, had amazing food everyday, and spent time with some wonderful family! Grandma Carolyn taught me how to make her famous pie crust...so we made blueberry pie. While that was cooking, I beat Grandpa at gin. (that's a pretty big deal) Another big reason we made the trip down there was to get a 5-generation family picture. Starting from Kailyn and Taylor going all the way up to their Great-great-grandma! What a blessing that is! We also headed over to the Luke Air force Base to watch some F-16s take off and land. They were right in front of us as the took off and landed. It was so amazing to see and hear those planes! Brady and I have a soft spot for planes. Thanks to Grandpa for taking us on base. I am so glad we got the chance to make it to Arizona to see family. It was such a great time and we will do it again soon. (hopefully, we can fly next time...)

I really wish I took more pictures with family! I just don't think about it until its too late.
Grandma and Grandpa believe in safety before fashion...
An awesome "cave" just like in Aladdin...(Kailyn loves the Disney movies"
Taylor hangin pool-side...keepin cool

Grandpa Bruce flew one of these planes when he was in the Air Force
Family picture...I promise Taylor is in there too. This is how close we were to the take off and landings...this isn't zoomed in at all
I love this picture...they are about to take off...
We were so close! I loved every loud second of it!

Look Who's 3

Definitely not the best picture of Kailyn, but you can see how cheesy she can be...

Yes, that's right...Kailyn turned 3 years old on August 30th. I cant believe it either. She is so big! Just today, I called around to people for preschool for her! I am not ready for this at all! Kailyn had such a wonderful birthday. She was spoiled beyond her wildest dreams. We spent the weekend in Denver with my parents for the Rocky Mountain Showdown. We have rivals in the family (Brady with CSU and Jon with CU) and then had an awesome BBQ. Finally, after all the waiting and anticipation, Kailyn was ready to open her presents. She made out like a bandit with all her princess loot. Princess rocking chair, bike, coloring books, Snow White doll and dress up stuff and fun trampoline and shopping cart. This should keep her busy for the next year, right?! Thank you to everyone who made her birthday so great.

So many presents to open!

Princess coloring books from Great Grandma Eakle

Princess Bike!

Shopping Cart from Ga-ga, Stacy, Little O, Jom, Alli, and Tyler

Trampoline from Grandma Cindy and Grandpa Berne

Gotta love the hair accessories... (Please excuse the CU trash can in the background...we put it to good use though.)

Petrified wood from Unky Bob

Her favorite Toy ever! Snow White doll. She has to go to bed with this doll every night and for every nap. Thanks Gran Patty and Old Goat!!

Cousins!
Tyler was pretty excited about the cake...he was so excited about Kailyn's presents too. He kept shouting "What is it, Kailyn?!" ahhh....so funny!
