15 months

Hello Everyone! I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving.... now on to Christmas! I wish everyone much luck! :o) Kailyn turned 15 months old last week and I just wanted to give you all a little update on her. I had to take her into the Doctors office to get some more shots and just get a full check up. She did really well with the shots. She only cried on the last one. The Doctore weighed her and measured her....she is 23.5 lbs and almost 32 inches long. She hasnt changed too much in that department in the last month or so. But boy has she changed in the social department! Whenever we go to the mall or go for walks, she will say hello to anyone that walks by and she will give her cute little wave to them. They all get a kick out of it. We have started a little play group that meets at the play area at the mall and she absolutly loves it! She will climb all over the place and slide down the slides....she is so warn out by the end of the day....which is really nice for me because she is so calm at night. She is saying more and more words everyday. Her newest obsession is "oh my". When she stumbles and falls, she will always say "oh my". It is so much fun to see her develope new words and start to comprehend everything that is going on around her. We cant wait until she is able to do more things and play and interact with others more. Hope everyone is doing well! Happy Holidays!!

Go Rams!

This weekend we had some company stay with us. My old roommate from college, Casey, and her husband, Martin, came up to fort Collins to watch the CSU vs. BYU football game. They are huge BYU fans (but we let them stay with us anyway). We had a blast at the game...Unfortunately, CSU lost the game. I think the final score was 24 -3. Too bad. The night looked like it would be pretty warm, but it turned out to be downright cold! Perfect weather for football players and fans who don't have to worry about a little baby. We put her hat, mittens, coat and blanket on her and she was still cold and fussy; so we had to leave after the 3rd quarter. No big deal. But we had a good time after the game when we finally got to carve our pumpkin and toast some pumpkin seeds. On Sunday we went to church and then watched the broncos beat the Steelers! That was a great game. I really really REALLY don't like the Steelers. All in all, this was a weekend filled with football! What a perfect weekend to relax and rest up for this next week. Its going to be a crazy one!

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween everyone! I know its a week late, but I lost our camera for a while so I couldn't put any pictures on here. My bad. This Halloween, Kailyn was a Broncos cheerleader! It wasn't my first choice, but it sure made Brady happy. The Saturday before Halloween we went to Denver to celebrate Tylers second birthday! Tyler was going to be a football player this year so we dressed them in their costumes down there and they were nice enough to pose for a few pictures. Happy Birthday T-Bone!! On Halloween morning, Kailyn and I went to downtown Fort Collins to do some trick or treating. We met up with some of the ladies in the neighborhood at 9am to go down there. I think we made it about 30 minutes before we got too cold. Later that afternoon, after her nap, we went to Bradys work to do some cubicle trick or treating. We met him at about 3:30 and walked around all the different offices and got a piece of candy at each stop. Everyone loved her costume at work. A lot of people at Avago are huge Broncos fans. Later that night, we decided that it was too cold to go around the neighborhood so we just stayed in and handed out lots of candy to other trick or treaters. Ryan came over to work on some homework with Brady and then we called it a day. Poor Kailyn, she was so tuckered out... Now, we need to start planning for next year! Any suggestions??

Let the painting begin!

The time has come for our boring white walls to get some personality. a couple months ago Brady and i were saying how our house needs some color to it. SO, after many many many samples and talking and more samples, we both agreed on a color for the kitchen. and finally, a few weeks ago, i got a wild hair (and i was so bored) and actually did something about the painting. brady and i went to home depot and got 3 gallons.....yes, 3 gallons of paint. we used up about 1/2 gallon......SO, there are going to be many rooms that have a green color. unless anyone wants some green paint! ;) The colored walls adds so much to the inside. It makes it so much 'warmer' and not so......white. we liked color so much that the next day we picked out colors for the family room and dining room. the living room is a tanish color and the dining room is going to be a reddish color. we keep getting the wrong red color. we'll get it right one of these days. Our goal is get the whole house painted by thanksgiving for the big part up here. thats just the goal.....who knows if it will really be ready by then.

URGH!

How frustrating! A while back, our Montero was having some problems. Brady and Kent fixed the problem and it was working just great! However, on Sunday, we were headed over to a friends house for lunch and we turned a corner and we hear a huge "clunk" sound. We look at each other and the car just rolls to a stop....What the heck do we do now?! Our friends towed the montero home and now Brady is just stumped at what is wrong with this dumb car. And that is hard to stump Brady about a car problem. SO.....While Brady is out in our garage trying to fix this car, I am inside with Kailyn looking at some new cars online ;) I know we wont get a new car right now, but a girl can look!!

These pictures have nothing to do with the car, but I just had to put them on here.

The Doctor....

Kailyn went to the Doctor today for her One Year check up....Not a fun visit at all. Poor girl....She came out of there with an ear infection, two holes in her thigh (shots), and a bad rash on her bum (yeast infection). SO....We went to the pharmacy to pick up her medicine and she will be as good as new is a few days....Ready for her party on Saturday! But, the good news is that she is 22lbs. And 31 inches long. She is in the 90th percentile for everything. The doctors were very impressed with how well she can talk. She says so many words like mama, dada, hello, bye-bye, spider, up, uh-oh (her favorite), night-night, bottle, big poop (thanks to brady), yum-yums, and lots of others but I cant think of them. Oh! She is working on Grandma and Grandpa right now. She has been going to some physical therapy sessions for her crawling or lack of crawling. She has progressed a lot since the first visit, but she still does not crawl of the floor. But she will crawl up the stairs over and over again. We don't know what the deal is. The therapist says that its because she is just strong willed and doesn't like doing things that she doesn't want to....That's my girl!! She is starting to walk a lot more now. She has a little push toy that Tyler is letting her use and she will do laps around the house until I get tired. She is also starting to stand by herself and take a few steps...But that is not very often. She is learning new things everyday and she is so fun. She will say "heddo" to everyone wherever we go...The mall, the store, for walks...She is such a happy baby and I hope that continues on.

Pictures aren't working right now....I'll try later

Happy Birthday Kailyn!

Happy Birthday Kailyn! Kailyn turned one year old on the 30th! I cannot believe it. She started her birthday with a lovely trip to the therapist....That was not a fun visit....But we finished out the day with a wonderful birthday party with all her friends from the neighborhood. It was more for the parents to hang out and have fun. But the older kids had a good time with the balloon fight that Brady started. (Thanks Brady ;) We let her dive into a frosted cupcake with sprinkles, but she wouldn't have anything to do with it. We smeared some frosting on her face to make it look like she dove right in. Then she opened her presents....She got some pretty cool stuff. Her favorite gift was a pick bag of mega legos. She also got some clothes and books and videos. She is set for a while, that's for sure. All in all, I think Kailyn had a pretty good day.

Camping at Gross Reservior

This weekend we went camping again. Only this time we went to a place called Gross Reservoir. This is about 20 miles north west of Golden. We had such a great time. I must admit, the ride up there was not so fun for me at first. We had to use our 4x4 to get up there. Some of the roads were so bumpy, I thought for sure we were going to tip over! But of course, everything turned out just fine, and I actually enjoyed the ride back down. Brady was in heaven! He said to me that this was the reason we got an SUV. We got to the camp ground at about 4:30 and Greg, Stacy, Alli, and Tyler met us there at about 8:00. So we just set the tents up and played some games that night. The next day, the boys went fishing and the girls just hung out at camp playing more games. We set up Greg's slack line to walk across and Tyler tried it out. We got it on video.....So dang funny. The only bad thing about this place was there were no porter potties! We had to go in nature.....Which wasn't so bad for the boys because they can go whenever, wherever. Lucky guys. But we had such a great time and we are for sure going there again.

A Weekend in the Mountains

Over the holiday weekend we decided to go camping! Brady got a huge tent for Fathers Day so we needed to break it in sooner or later. We went up the Poudre Canyon to a place called the Narrows. Its about 30 minutes into the canyon. It is right on the river and so beautiful! When we got there, three of the best campsites were already spoken for but no one was even there! We were debating on whether or not to just set our tent up there ...But we didn't. So at about 10:30 at night we hear some people coming in....They were so loud!! Keep in mind Kailyn was already sleeping....So they set there tents up and were drinking there beer and just having a grand ol' time! Finally, Brady had to go over there and tell them to be quite. It turns out that one of the guys nailed his tent stake into the wood border and he was trying to get it out and hammer it back in. He was a little too drunk to know what was going on. Oh well....Kailyn did really well! I thought she would have some trouble sleeping, being too cold, too hot, too many bugs, loud people....But she did really well for her first time camping. She loved the sound of the river at night. She had no trouble falling asleep. We are planning alot of camping trips over the summer... So if anyone wants to go, let us know! ;)

It is officially summer!

Hi everyone! This past week has been super hot up here in Fort Collins. Yesterday we topped out at 100*!! That is too hot for me. So Kailyn and I took advantage of our neighborhood pool and escaped the hot hot hot weather. (I also needed to work on my tan...or lack of...) Kailyn absolutely loves the pool! She was kicking her feet in the water and splashing with her hands...She was just having a ball! We kinda felt bad for Brady who was stuck at work all day....but he was able to join us when he got home.

Kailyn is 9 1/2 months old today! We went into the Doctor the other day for her check up. She is doing great! She weighed in at a whopping 20.5 lbs and 29 1/2 inches tall. She is quite the chunker!! But that's ok....We love chunky babies. She can say "mama" and "dada" on demand now. And I think she might be saying "dog" because we have a stuffed dog that she loves. But dog sounds an awful lot like dad. She can clap her hands together when we sing "If you're happy and ya know it" song. She gets a kick out of that song. She can scoot around on her bum in a circle to get toys that she wants....but still no crawling yet. But she still loves to walk around with our help. She can walk along the couch to get her toys too. Overall, Kailyn is doing great and she is so happy. She definitely knows how to smile for the camera.

Happy Memorial Day!

Happy Memorial Day! What a great weekend we had. Saturday was very busy for Brady. He was working in the yard all day. He was mowing the lawn, picking out all the 'junk' in the back yard that was left behind by the previous owners, and laying new seed in the patchy areas. He worked on his car for big chunk of time too and got really dirty. That's what boys do best, I suppose. Sunday was a day to relax and catch up on some much needed sleep. Greg and Stacy came up for the holiday; so we played a couple games of risk....I don't think we will be playing that game anytime soon. Then on Monday, we all went hiking up to Horsetooth Rock. This time, we went all the way to the top!! Kailyn did so well throughout the entire hike! She just loved being on Daddys back just hanging out. I think we wore her out with all the hiking because she fell asleep on the way down the mountain. Poor little girl. We came back and had some great steak, corn, chips, salad, watermelon, and any other BBQ food we could think of! A much needed reward for the hike. But it turns out that the top of Horsetooth Rock is only a 2.75 mile hike! I must be a wuss because it seemed like a ten mile hike! All in all it was a great weekend and we are going to make that hike an annual event. So, if anyone is up for a hike next year, come on up!!

Bath-time fun!

We gave Kailyn a bath last night. Brady put her in front of the mirror on the counter in the bathroom to dry her off and she was just laughing up a storm! She was having the best time. We thought it was really cute so we took some pictures.

I wish we had a video camera to record her laugh because it is so contagous. She is growing so much! We dont have the official numbers yet, but we are going to the doctor next Tuesday; so we will find out then.

Here she is done what she does best, Smiling for the camera!

We Have Moved!

Greetings! I can't believe how much has happened this past month. This Koenig family has been busy busy busy! Two huge things happened to us that we are just so excited about. First of all, BRADY GRADUATED! Yes, he did it, finally! Brady graduated on May 12th with a Computer Engineering degree with a minor in Computer Science. We are so proud of him. We had a huge party for him at our new house. All the friends and family came into town and up from Denver to congratulate Brady. Then he has Saturday and Sunday to relax, and that following Monday, he started at his new job with Avago. Not much of a break for him...poor guy. But he is just loving his new job. There is a lot to take in and a lot of new things he needs to learn before he can jump into the projects. Everyone at work is so nice and are helping Brady out tons! But before all that happened....we moved! After lots and lots of searching for the perfect house, we found our dream home! We moved in on May 5th. With the help of Ryan, we were moved in and unpacked by the next day! (We didnt have much to begin with) We love our house so much and we cant wait until we get to do yard work and plant flowers in the yard. I know that will change after a few years of mowing and weeding, but for now, we are so excited to do all that. Kailyn will love playing in the back yard...which still needs some work. She is doing so well. She has a Dr. appointment on the 31st, so we'll keep you updated on her. Hope all is well with you!

A Day at Horsetooth

Spring has officially come to Fort Collins. We decided to take full advantage of the weather and went for a hike at Horsetooth Park. We took our friends Jay and Emily and showed them around the mountain. Emily was 7 months pregnant and she was such a trooper going up the mountain. We stopped to take some pictures at the scenic points and at the little "trickle" of a waterfall. Now that summer is on its way, we are going to be at Horsetooth much more often.

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter everyone! Grandma and Grandpa Lindbloom gave Kailyn some bunny ears for Easter and she wore them to church today! She got so many looks and oooo's and awww's. She didn't like them at first, but once she realized that everyone was looking at her, she didnt mind the ears too much. Thanks guys!

We also have some more exciting news....we bought our first house! Well, we will be moved in the new house on May 5th. We are still staying in Fort Collins, but about 4 miles south of where we are now. The house has 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, living room, family room, dining room, kitchen eating area, and a nice backyard. Brady and I are both very exciting about moving in. We are planning on staying in this house for a while and it had everything that we were looking for.

7 Months old!

Today, Kailyn is 7 months old. I can hardly believe where the time has gone. She is growing up so fast. Her latest development has been two teeth! Her bottom 2 teeth came in about 2 weeks ago while we were on vacation. They didn't seem to bother her too much, but there were a couple fussy hours with the incoming teeth. She is eating some baby food from the jar now...Just starting slow with green beans, applesauce, carrots, bananas, and sweet potatoes. Kailyn loves to "walk" already. We hold onto her hands and she just moves those legs forward. She can go from one end of the living room to the other in about a minute! We are wondering if she will even crawl before she walks. She doesn't show any interest in crawling yet. We'll see! Since Brady has a job now, we are looking for houses in the area...So, we have to take Kailyn with us as we look. She does so well....She just falls asleep in her car seat as we drive around. I guess house shopping is just boring for her. (She must get that from Brady because I love it! ;) Overall, Kailyn is doing so well.

Spring Break

We are back! We just returned from a wonderful week in Arizona. It was Brady's spring break this past week and we thought it would be fun for Kailyn to see some family. Grandma and Grandpa Fleming were nice enough to let us take over their house for the week. Cindy cooked some great dinners for us and the whole family during the week. We were able to see Grandma and Grandpa Mathews a few days. They were nice enough to let us pick some oranges and grapefruits off their trees and take some home. Nowhere else but Arizona can you get free oranges right in your own backyard! I'm so used to paying $1 for every orange I eat! We had a quick visit with Eric, Christie, and Jackson who were down there for vacation too. The weather was not "typical" Arizona weather. It was a little on the chilly side which was about 50-60 degrees. There were some days in the 70s. But Brady and I decided we couldn't go to Arizona and not go swimming! So, on the last day we were there, we jumped in the pool and right back out again. But at least we can say we went swimming! Thanks to Berne, we were able to go to a Suns basketball game. Of course the Suns won. Over all, the vacation was a great time and very much needed. Cant wait to go back! (Maybe when its a bit warmer so we can actually enjoy the pool and get a good tan)
