This weekend was very crazy for us. On Thursday the 25th, it was my birthday! I thought that Brady had some nice evening planned for me. I thought he called our babysitter to come watch Kailyn while we went to dinner or something along those lines. Well, it turns out that my wonderful husband deceived me! Brady came home Thursday afternoon before lunch to let me open my presents. I got a bunch of ski stuff! After presents a bunch of girls up here organized a little lunch for me.
So we got together and had a yummy lunch! Thanks everyone!! But the last present Brady let me open was a card. On it was my REAL present! It turns out that he was going to take me to a Mammoth Lacrosse game with some friends...and we went in style! My college roommate had a suite for the game so we had all kinds of food, drinks, stats, comfy seats, and the best spot to watch the game. We were in the suite next to the Altitude sportscasters.
So we watched their sportscast live! We tried to make some funny faces at them, but they wouldn't look our way. oh well. During half time, there were some messages that roll across the arena, and my dad thought it would be a good idea (and it was!) to put a message up for me. It said "Happy 24th Birthday, Erin Koenig." What a great surprise! The next day, Brady planned out a day of skiing!! I had to break in all my new ski stuff. So we get up way early to get up to Copper Mountain.
Alli watched Kailyn all day for us, so thank you Alli!!!! Brady is a super good skier, and I have gone skiing once before....so needless to say, I was on the bunny slope and Brady, the wonderful guy he is, stayed with me and was probably bored out of his mind!
The last run we did was a more difficult green run....i was doing really well until I almost ran into a tree and totally ate it! I twisted my back pretty badly (which by the way has a herniated disk.....thanks to Jon for letting me know that) SO, we had to cut the day short. We stayed in Denver that night again and had some key lime pie (my favorite) and played the new Nintendo Wii. Greg and Stacy brought it over and we played it until about 11 that night. Brady loved that so much, the next day he and Greg went out and bought one for himself....well, I think I will get to play every now and then, too. We are justifying that purchase as another birthday present for me ;o)
This weekend and birthday was so great! Thank you to EVERYONE who made it this surprise possible and special. Brady, I don't know how you are going to out-do this birthday next year....I cant wait! ;o)
