So, its been a little while since the last post. Not much has happened these past few weeks. Kailyn and I have come down with a nasty little cold. We have been having some icky runny noses and starting an annoying cough. Hopefully, it will end soon.
Brady has been busy busy busy on the basement (when he can). He has been really busy with his new calling lately. He is the new Deacon's Quorum Advisor now and has tons of training classes, mutual, meetings every week, etc. Trying to balance church, work, and ME is very tough for him and then he has to find time to work on the basement on top of all that! But, he has made some great progress. He has finished all the electrical work and the plumbing work. The plumbing was such a pain because the pipes for the shower and sink had to go behind the framing wood. But at least that part is done! Now, the next step is the heating vents. Woo hoo! We are wanting to have it done by Christmas... but I don't think that's going to happen. We'll keep you updated on the progress.
Sorry no pictures this time around...

Family Pictures
For Labor Day my family decided to get some pictures taken of all the kids and families. Its been a couple years since everyone was together to do this, so we took advantage of it. We'll have to take more pictures in a year or so because there are some additions pretty soon! (wink wink) Surprisingly, it didn't take very long to take all the pictures. (there were hundreds taken!) But I think I picked out the best looking ones where most everyone is smiling. Enjoy!!

Estes Park

This weekend we took a little trip to Estes Park. Greg and Stacy called us and said they were headed up there so we joined them. It just so happens that there was a Scottish festival there that same day! So traffic getting into Estes was a nightmare! But it wasn't close to the shops at all so that was good. We just played around all day. We stopped by the little pond and played with the water. Kailyn LOVES the water and bridges that were there. Then we went to this one Mexican restaurant and sat on the roof top to enjoy some great burritos and chalupas and some of the best fries I have EVER tasted! (they were supposed to be for Kailyn, but we all ended up eating them) Then we just walked around some more. Got some yummy taffy, candy, Carmel corn, and of course Greg had to get an awesome belt buckle of the "stinky broncos" It would be really cool if he got the seahawks logo....but oh well. After all the walking around, we decided to call it a day and head back. It was lots of fun and now that we know Kailyn can handle a day with out a nap pretty well, I'm sure we will do that more often.

Major Project
As some of you may know, Kailyn is going to be a big sister in April! She is very excited about it. However, in order to accommodate everyone in our soon to be growing family, we decided we needed more space. No...we aren't moving. But Brady has decided to finish the basement! We figure we needed to finish it because we still wanted to have an office space and a spare bedroom in case anyone wanted to come up for a visit. (hint hint) So, we are putting in another bedroom, a bathroom, a little office nook and an entertainment room downstairs. It seems like quite the job to me, but Brady is just plugging away at it. He has finished the framing stage right now; so now he is working on the electrical, plumbing, heating, etc. All the stuff that goes behind the walls. We are so excited to have more room and more space. Since the office and spare bedroom will be down stairs; we are making a nursery for the new little one and then I think the other room will be my crafty room with all my scrapbook/card/sewing machine stuff. It is going to be so great!! We will keep you posted on the progress.

Kailyn is 2 .... plus some
Hey everyone! I would like to apologize yet again for the lack of posts lately. I have been feeling not-so-good lately and just haven't gotten around to updating our blog. But here are a few now.
Kailyn turned 2 years old a few weeks ago! I cannot believe another year has passed us by. We went to the Doctor for her little check up a few days before her birthday and the Doctor said she looked great! She stood on the big scale to get weighed and she weighs 28 pounds. Then she stood by the wall to get her height and she is an inch shy of 3 feet! My little girl is not so little anymore. It kind of makes me a little sad.
She is learning so many new things everyday. While Kailyn and I were in Denver this last week, she did the funniest thing. I was inside and she and Grandma were outside playing with a riding toy horse. All of the sudden, she wheels the horse to a corner of the house and said "Time Out." Then she goes back to play with Grandma a little bit. About a minute or 2 pass and she comes back to the horse and gets down and looks the horse right in the eye and said "Look at me. No No." Then she wheels the horse over to Grandma and said "Say sorry to Grandma." And that was that. After about 15 minutes of laughing non stop I had tears in my eyes. I never knew she could put some one or some thing in time out. At least she knows what to expect for time outs!
Kailyn had a great birthday party up here with all of her friends. We had a bunch of people over for a little end of the summer BBQ. We were watching Colby (Dave and Ashley's dog) and he was such a hit! All of Kailyns friends except one are boys and they just LOVED Colby. They were running around the back yard and playing with him all night. Colby loved all the attention and rough play. I don't know what we would have done for entertainment for the boys if Colby wasn't here.
We went down to Denver for the holiday weekend for some family pictures and decided to have a little family party with a yummy ice cream cake. Kailyn came home with some great presents! Thanks guys!!!
